Meet Professor Suleimet

Professor Suleimet is my gender studies professor. She's a red panda from the Old Country who knows so much about the battles for gender equality and sexual equality that lasted for hundreds of years. I'm glad to be alive now instead of back then.

Her time is precious. But even so, she revels in telling stories of the past, and I enjoy hearing about them. Did you know that there are three great libraries still in existence in the Old Country? Each of them has different accounts of Old Country history. I asked her how one can tell which story is what really happened. She told me that when you read the same account in all three places, you'll find two libraries are more similar in their stories than the third. Often, the third is a complete fabrication, and a combination of the first two is the right story.

"Nobody can be certain what truly happened hundreds of years ago. It's up to intiution to tell yourself the correct story," she said.

She's so very intellectually stimulating.
