Clever use of type manipulation, it will only be a nightmare for your opponent.
Kaycat on Jun 16th, 2014 @ 04:34 PM
I feel like this would work best in a mostly two gendered deck with the other two genders splashed in for just single points with dual havens.
Lafitte on Jun 16th, 2014 @ 11:38 AM
And now I wonder... will there be something that can make jinvon tokens? Because that would get really nasty.
It also dawns on me that you haven't been showing us much in the way of havens for this set, and that gets me suspicious that there'll be lots of ways to mix up your gender points.
Zeneth_Starr on Jun 13th, 2014 @ 04:45 PM
I'll give Kaia a pat on the head for being such a clever cougar for you all.

Have to agree with Mage. Hebrew really found their element here.
Magetorment on Jun 13th, 2014 @ 04:08 AM
I'm really digging this art. Hebrew really did a good job with this one.
Rainbow decks aren't as hard as they once were. It's usually a good idea to either have one focus gender with the others supporting it or to not go above 2 GP in cost for anything. Of course having lots of duel havens helps, as well as haven-finding cards.
@Ezekiel: Enough to make things interesting. :3
@Scrimno: I find the Tanglebrook duel havens to be a little iffy in off-tribe decks. You'd probably be better off running the 2nd/TRI/DAA duel havens. The best card to use for rainbow decks out of Tribes is Dickscouting to get those non-home havens.
Scrimno on Jun 13th, 2014 @ 02:00 AM
Yeah but is it worth running a rainbow deck? Getting enough havens out for a double-gender deck is challenging enough.
I suppose you could fulfill its requirement with Timber Marsh and Bottomswell. Still seems really expensive.

Always wondered about a 4 type deck :)
sirdan87 on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 07:49 PM
Quite a powerful being the nightmare is. This will certainly get heads rolling to control the field.
ezekiel_tyr on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 07:46 PM
so how many jinvons are there?
Taz on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 06:24 PM
I caught that comment from Kaia myself and couldn't help but stifle a giggle. Even now I want to mention other cards from FAV that enable the Nightmare deck, but I suppose that'll have to wait. :) For now, though, I'll remind you guys to check out Desk Scouting from Strawberry!
By the way, as a gentle reminder, Duplicat (also from Strawberry) doesn't target. One might find themselves in situations where they Duplicat a Nightmare to bring the Jinvon count to two, only for a second Nightmare to appear on the opposing side to bring the Jinvon count to one again (the Duplicat), only to play a *second* Duplicat of Nightmare to bring the Jinvon count to zero (which still turns off Jinvon cards because of the "exactly one" clause) . . . it can get a little crazy! XD
polkakitty on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 05:42 PM
@Kaia_Cougar - Yeah, that was brilliant. As for how to actually play Nightmare of the Jinvon, it wouldn't be incredibly difficult with an M/F deck with 3x Master of Ceremonies. Or you could just have one of each Home Haven and a whole bunch of Mesas and Dicks Everywheres.
However, I've noticed recently that every time I suggest using a certain card to make a combo with a card being previewed, the next preview reveals a card that makes for a much better combo. So I'm going to guess that there's a card in this set that makes it easier to get at least 1 GP of each type. Like, maybe a Conductor that can conduct to give you 1 GP of any type, or a Haven that lets you pick which type of GP it generates, or even a reprint of Pornacopia from 1st Vanilla (which was an Alteration that you could attach to a Haven which would make it generate an extra GP of any type.)
Kaia_Cougar on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 05:02 PM
I KNEW IT! I knew the nightmare had to do something to liberate the jinvon from their limitations. 4 gender though... :|
*Actually reads post* Oh hey, that's what I said. Oh hey, that's my name. :P
Nezumi12 on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 04:58 PM
Just had a massive nerdgasm. there are so many awesome things that could be done with this card [evil grin]
@BlueJay: love that song, and very appropriate
BlueJay on Jun 12th, 2014 @ 04:30 PM
Like Alice Cooper once sang, "Welcome to my Nightmare. I think you're gonna like it. I think you're gonna feel you belong."
