We've talked a lot about love over the past few weeks, and it's time to show the largest focus of Fortune at Vell's End!
If you recall, way back in August 2013, we announced Fortune at Vell's End and gave you a breakdown of what you'll see in the card set:
* Romance, Monogamy, Polyamory, etc. (40%)
* Adventuring (31%)
* Conductors (20%)
* Soft Vore (9%)
Today we'll see what that 40% means, and tomorrow, we'll get into the details!
Fellowship is a new skill that highlights people in monogamous and polyamorous relationships. It's a skill that shows that love for one or more people is a good thing -- when everyone's happy, their powers combine!
We're talking about a new invisible force called a Fellowship, so we'll take it slow. I'm going to walk you through the card piece-by-piece!
Asti is a proud lioness who costs 9 action points and 3 Female points to play (you can see her cost in the upper-right corner). You'll need a significant devotion to the Female gender to bring her into the scene ("Forests" cards are the basic way to increase your Female Points per turn). You automatically get 10 action points per turn, so you'll have to spend nearly a full turn's worth to play Asti.
If you look at her stats in the lower left, you can see that she has an impressive 20 stamina (the ❤ icon is her stamina), which means it takes a lot of pleasure to make her orgasm. Below the heart icon is how much pleasure she gives in bed to each of the four genders: 5 pleasure to Males, 4 pleasure to Females, and 6 pleasure to Herms and Otherkind. Those values are called pleasuring experience, or PEs. PEs initially range from 0 to 10 (and they can go higher than that through Alterations), so as you can see, Asti gives good pleasure in bed!
Finally, let's look at her skill box in the lower half of the card -- take a look at her new skill! Her first skill says that she has a Fellowship that can fit four Furres, including herself. To get a Furre to join her Fellowship, simply pay 1 AP and exhaust her (The "Ex" symbol means to exhaust a Furre -- turn it on its side to show that it's exhausted. You can't pay an "Ex" cost until your next turn after you played her). And just like that, a Furre has joined her Fellowship! But what does it mean to be in a Fellowship?
For the answer to that, we need to look at her second skill: While Asti's Fellowship is full, each putting out Furre in her Fellowship is Generous. Generous means a Furre gives pleasure in bed first. Normally, you and your opponent's Furres will trade pleasure at the same time, but Generous Furres are, well, generous! It's possible that they could bring your opponent's Furres to orgasm before your opponent even has a chance to give pleasure back!
Asti's pride is strong, but wouldn't it be great if it could get stronger?
Let's say hi to Zinna!
Notice something awesome here?
With Zinna and Asti in a full fellowship, they're both Generous while putting out and Multi-orgasmic! (Multi-orgasmic means that they're not done after one orgasm -- they'll come back into the scene with a -5 Max Stamina counter for one more orgasm. When one of them returns to the scene, the Fellowship will be broken, but on your next turn, simply use Asti's skill to bring Zinna back into the Fellowship!)
Everyone brings their own special skill to the Fellowship -- combine your powers to make an unbeatable team!
Please ask any questions about the Fellowship mechanic in the comments below! We'll be talking in detail about it tomorrow!
Outlast your opponents with strength in fellowship -- Fortune at Vell's End preorders begin June 1st!

You guys have really out done yourselves!
Lafitte on May 22nd, 2014 @ 01:03 PM
This is about to revolutionize my Chessie deck....
Nezumi12 on May 22nd, 2014 @ 11:50 AM
@Daralyn: I felt you explained the skill quite well. I found some of your sentences grammatically awkward, but no more so than many facebook post from native English speakers. I also loved your use of the term "massive clusterfuck tornado" which sums the whole thing up beautifully, IMO.
Darkkismeth on May 22nd, 2014 @ 11:22 AM
Woah, that is a heavy skill. But the costs for the skill are making it worth.
Zeneth_Starr on May 22nd, 2014 @ 11:22 AM
This is awesome. I've been loving the story we've been hearing so far (being a writer and voracious reader), But I've been really curious on what the new game mechanics would be.
Daralyn on May 22nd, 2014 @ 10:45 AM
Basicly the primary card with fellowship(Here Asti) tells you how many furres total you need on board. each one must be be connected with Asti by her ability (here it is her and three more) I'm not sure if it is possible to refresh card in turn itself via some card becuse this ability exhaust her.
If not then you need ideally put every turn one strong furre and use Asti's ability. and after three turns, in turn 4 you will get her benefit, and any other benefit from other cards like Zinna in massive clusterfuck tornado.
but - IF one or more fures from this group orgasm, you loose all benefits until you again connect her and three other furres in same way as before
sorry it is bit... rough, english is not my main language so I hope I didn't complicate it even more for you
yuko on May 22nd, 2014 @ 08:56 AM
maybe a bit complicated for this fox to really keep up. but I haven't ever played furoticon before, so im trying to learn all the rules I can, this fellowship and multi orgasmic stuff is good sounding, and the new cards are simply divine! I cant wait to get my paws on them, if I ever get the furos/luck to get them that is! but still. could you explain how fellowship works a bit more?
Kaia_Cougar on May 22nd, 2014 @ 08:55 AM
@Lafitte another caveat I see is that, while fellowships are strong, they're only as durable as their weakest member. These abilities require a full fellowship, and once someone in the fellowship orgasms, you no longer have a full fellowship.
RainbowKitten on May 22nd, 2014 @ 08:47 AM
So many fun new rules..... :-D
ezekiel_tyr on May 22nd, 2014 @ 06:10 AM
you know i could ask all the questions i want but all i know is that i will have to learn first hand to truly understand how the cards work
Daralyn on May 22nd, 2014 @ 12:09 AM
I'm not expert but it says clearly "while fellowship is full"
bascily I suppose it means you can put anybody in, but certain cards can benefit more than others because of special abilities
Lafitte on May 22nd, 2014 @ 12:02 AM
Hmmm, is there some other caveat with fellowship? Like, do members of a fellowship bind together for attack and defense? Or do you simply mark them with a token and that's that?
Additionally, I recall most card altering effects remain active even if their original cause is done away with; for instance, a card that gets bonuses for achieving a certain PE level will keep that bonus even if their base stats are dropped (I believe Seppel explained that a while ago, but I may have misunderstood). So, in the case of a fellowship, if one member of a full fellowship is eliminated does the fellowship lose their bonus, or is that bonus a permanent addition to the cards?
polkakitty on May 21st, 2014 @ 11:43 PM
@Taz - Well, I didn't phrase that very well, but what I was thinking of was that it would be pretty great if you could send a Furre over to your teammate to complete their Fellowship, and that Furre also had a bonus effect for being in a Fellowship, like Zinna.
Then again, if your teammate just needed a fourth Furre on the board to complete Asti's Fellowship, it looks like you could actually use Professor Bounder for that. Even though Professor Bounder doesn't himself have any skills related to Fellowships, he would still get to be Generous when putting out because of Asti's skill....
Daralyn on May 21st, 2014 @ 11:39 PM
hm - this power really seems to be quite strong. only issue is that even Zinna is almost worth a full round of AP.
in later phase you may have enough to make a deffense after that but it will be hard to make a full fellowship of the ring..."uhm - bad game, sorry" before someone starts to breaking it apart once he see Ashti. On the other hand, it may be scary to exhaust your furres on machine like her, and if opponent miss a chance, her group became a nightmare - I bet there are some other very strong fellowship cards
Tegome on May 21st, 2014 @ 10:27 PM
Asti's a pretty awesome Female Fellowship leader... but I wouldn't say she's the best. Seppel will need to reveal her eventually. ;3
Taz on May 21st, 2014 @ 08:50 PM
@polkakitty: The is probably going to have a rules definition somewhere eventually, but last time I checked only Furres you control can be in the Fellowship of a Furre you control; Professor Bounder would leave the Fellowship. Sorry. ^^;
I can't wait until you guys see what Jory adds to the Fellowship! Not to mention the firepower Sev has . . . oh wait. ;)
Nezumi12 on May 21st, 2014 @ 07:49 PM
holy crap, this is going to be awesome. can't wait to get my hands on some of these cards.
So. Much. Potential.
polkakitty on May 21st, 2014 @ 07:36 PM
Hmmm. When this set was first announced and it was revealed that relationships would be one of the main themes, I kind of assumed that the relevant mechanic would just apply to Furres that are in canon relationships, like "while Sukouri is in the scene, Lyscilla is Tireless", or something like that. But now that I think about it, it wouldn't add much to the game if it worked that way. I mean, the whole point of a game like this is being able to customize your deck, so having Furres that only live up to their potential if you have one specific other Furre on the field just wouldn't be a good idea in general, since it would work against the principle of being able to experiment with different deck setups.
But being able to choose which Furres will be in a relationship, with each one offering different perks.... wow, I think there's an incredible amount of potential here, in terms of both in-game strategy and fanfiction. *blush* I started out being most interested to see how vore will actually work in terms of gameplay, but I think all the possibilities of Fellowships might well end up being the highlight of the set for me.
I kind of wonder, though: Any chance of seeing a Furre with a skill like Professor Bounder, where they can be in a Fellowship, and you can give control of them to a teammate? I think that would be an absolute killer to play in a team game.
BlueJay on May 21st, 2014 @ 06:57 PM
Mmm, Asti has a great card, and I like Zinna's flavor text.
Kaia_Cougar on May 21st, 2014 @ 06:29 PM
Also, fellowship looks like a fun new mechanic. Looking forward to seeing more.
Kaia_Cougar on May 21st, 2014 @ 06:28 PM
Oh awesome. Now I can start updating my card index.
