Hey, if it's just a Furoticon version of the original M:tG computer game (1995), that's good enough for beta testing. The "flash and animation" can come in as it gets finished, but the core gameplay is why we play in the first place. I take it there will be a forum or email where we can post glitches during testing?
Darkkismeth on Apr 23rd, 2013 @ 05:07 AM
Yeah, it is more important to me as an supporter to experience no glitches in the game, that i have high hopes for.
Rieza on Apr 22nd, 2013 @ 04:17 PM
good to see you want to get it out as glitchless as possible. Can't wait to get my paws on it
Scrimno on Apr 22nd, 2013 @ 01:06 PM
Found the answer to my question: "all necessary art (IE: Furre Sprites, UI art, Bedrooms, et cetera) is a higher priority than the custom sprites."
Scrimno on Apr 22nd, 2013 @ 01:03 PM
Oh, will the custom avatars be available during beta testing?
Scrimno on Apr 22nd, 2013 @ 01:02 PM
Too bad about FurO, but I'm stoked about beta testing.
KoutaLeon on Apr 21st, 2013 @ 09:49 PM
Well, you know, time to time, isn't? No matter how much time it needs, it is gonna be awesome =3.
polkakitty on Apr 21st, 2013 @ 04:17 PM
Well, others have already said it, but I can deal with having to wait. I've always really been impressed with the care that's gone into developing Furoticon, and I'd rather deal with a few delays than a game that doesn't measure up to your usual standards. Besides, since the online game is intended to allow more stuff to be added to it (i. e. new sets of cards,) I think it's best to first make sure the core features and gameplay are solid so that you can build momentum and have a foundation to build fancier features onto. That's what all the most successful MMOs have done.
I did also want to get into the beta, so that's definitely good news. =3
kcollingham on Apr 21st, 2013 @ 01:34 AM
just send me a link id be happy to beta :-)
Nezumi12 on Apr 21st, 2013 @ 01:10 AM
if only microsoft were more like you folks...
Eglath on Apr 20th, 2013 @ 10:16 PM
Ditto to all the supportive comments. Take your time and make it an awesome game. Rather play a game that works than one completely broken a few weeks/months earlier. (Yes I'm looking at you SOE - Starwars Galaxies)

I am excited for it! Keep up the good work. ^^
ezekiel_tyr on Apr 20th, 2013 @ 06:52 PM
well sad it wont be fully released but still cant wait to try testing it
RainbowKitten on Apr 20th, 2013 @ 11:43 AM
Squee, I'm so excited for all this!
IronRat on Apr 20th, 2013 @ 09:29 AM
I will gladly wait for quality. Take as much time as needed. See you in the beta.
Akinokaze on Apr 20th, 2013 @ 01:51 AM
Considering the staggering amount of work [both coding wish and especially art assets] I'm not surprised it will take longer than expected.
Take care and make the best product you can, can't wait till the beta ^_^
Bunnybunbun on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 09:55 PM
it sad new but it guess ill be fine. i mean at lest you guys didnt say its not coming out...we still get it. ^^
SaoBunneh on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 09:46 PM
I for one am a bit disappointed over this news. It was released the same month as my birthday, so when I spent money to help fund it I told myself it was a birthday present for myself.
I do understand the reasoning though. I've not bought any physical cards, so that means I need to wait even longer to start playing. Sadballs.
Felidire on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 09:25 PM
I wasn't expecting it to be released on the proposed date. Online TCGs take a ton of work, and they're usually complete glitch-fests over the first half-year or so. (Initially, for every single bug that you fix, another 2-3 will pop up elsewhere as a direct result!) XD
In any case, I look forward to eventually being able to test the beta (Hopefully there aren't too many, but I do love glitch-hunting. It should be great fun!)
Don't worry too much about animations at this point, focus on the coding and in making sure that everything runs smoothly. No matter how awesome the animations may be, something plain & functional is better than something breathtakingly beautiful, but broken.
otterLoikar on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 08:07 PM
I'm really glad you're waiting to release the game. Even console games nowadays have just been about getting it out quickly to make money then update it later to fix the problems that people shouldn't have to deal with.
t_han on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 07:04 PM
I honestly thought June was an ambitious release date, so this neither surprises nor bothers me. Keep doing your thing; it'll be done when it's done. As long as it doesn't go the way of the Triskelion novel, things should be fine.
Roshiyu on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 04:52 PM
Not too dissapointed with a delay, if it means a quality product when released. So long as it isn't anything like a three year delay, of course.
And for the beta, that was a surprise I wasn't expecting, but I'm glad the opportunity was presented. I'll definitely enjoy that. :P

RealZero - The survey we sent informed supporters that we'd be sending a single work in progress sprite so some tweaks can be done if necessary. However, I will remind everyone that we are somewhat detail limited with 100 pixel tall avatars, so I'm hoping that's well understood!
In addition, we're going to be making sure the game is completely functional and all necessary art (IE: Furre Sprites, UI art, Bedrooms, et cetera) is a higher priority than the custom sprites. My hope is that they'll be ready at official launch, or sometime during the beta, barring any complications due to complex pieces or large changes.
Gix - We have no tentative information at this time, but once we have a date we'll be running to the computers to post it!
Gix on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 02:00 PM
Just curious if there's any tentative info on when the beta may start?
captainbozo on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 01:43 PM
Well regardless, I'm excited for the beta :D The animations can wait, because I mostly wanna play the game!
Unseen_Evil on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 01:34 PM
Well, "Rome was not build in two days".
I would suggest to keep FurO on closed testing so that while the spriters do their heroic effort, the game can keep updating on other things.
The game had almost three hundred supporters, so there might be some people experienced with beta testing, translating or doing any other thing to contribute.
megacycle on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 12:39 PM
I do understand. I can only imagine how much work goes into making a game of this magnitude. I expect there to be glitches at first, but I feel that the completed product is going to be amazing. I look forward to playing the beta version when it is ready to be tested.

sirdan87 on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 11:59 AM
I can understand how push backs can occur and these things take time. Hopefully all is able to correct itself out in the end.
I do await to "Test" it out when the time comes. Really look forward to that part.
Also great to hear on setting up a tumblr page. I will be making use of this for sure. Best of luck to all those involved. ^_^
yuko on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 10:57 AM
I know im not a supporter but the idea I could play the game online was a shocker. I got into this late as it was so to be here for the online version of the game puts me in good spirits. and I will stay logged on and stay "in the loop" by staying logged on and what not. I would love to be one of the fist to play the game but I will wait. patiently.
RealZero on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 10:41 AM
The "missing" animations are really quite a letdown for me, that was one of the things I was very excited to see how they work out. A pity and I hope adding them won't take tooo long to get them included afterwards. But still, looking forward to the beta, that's for sure.
Two questions, though: 1. Will the beta already feature the personal avatars for supporters? and 2. will the supporters see their avatars before the final game is released so they can see if there possibly are any big errors due to misleading or misunderstood descriptions and such?
Anyway, still, best wishes to the whole team, looking forward to this game.
Kaia_Cougar on Apr 19th, 2013 @ 10:41 AM
Take your time to make it right, I think we'll all understand. I'm sad to hear that the best animations will be delayed though. Hopefully they'll follow not too long after the game.
