-> Lady Vitelle, visit with Laint.
After warming up with some stretches and balance exercises, you put on your robe and mask, and you grab a cord of rope.
You then exit the room you reserved, walk down the hallway, and enter the room that Laint reserved.
You can tell by the way he's standing on a table and enunciating his words that he's practicing his oration. Laint's dream is to be the figurehead. His voice is more beautiful than your own, and the way he empathizes with a crowd while on stage... well, your jealousy knows no bounds.
His role of advisor to the Lady is so heavily weighted against any public speaking at all that it hurts him whenever he hears a speech botched by Lady Ahla.
That's why you asked Laint to meet with you. As a fair trade, you agreed in return to grant him a session about the erotic arts, which he expressed great interest in.
Though some may consider the erotic arts just as sexual as intercourse, you understand that it's a study in elegance. Would you ever swoon for Laint? Of course not. Would he for you? Never. Neither of you takes interest in that way.
As you close the door, Laint's deep, smooth voice fills your ears.
: "Lady Vitelle, your presence is most welcome! I was in a state of practice. If you'd enjoy, I could continue."
: "Thank you, but I'll pass. We have little time, and much to cover. Please strip down."
: "My, my! Directly to business as always with you, Vitelle. Why, if Avila were here, she'd scold you for your rudeness."
: "Well, she's not here. That mission of diplomacy was her idea."
: "Yes, I did wonder about the haste with which she initiated it."
: "She's a coward."
: "Excuse me?"
: "She turns a blind eye to our Lady. She comes up with an excuse to leave the city when I suggest High Guild reform. Does that sound like bravery to you?"
: "Oh my. It sounds like she rejected your advances."
: "My pleasure, Lady Vitelle."
He speaks genially. You hate it. You can't tell if he's genuinely excited, or merely obliging. You hate not knowing. He's too good with his personality.
He strips naked, his smile unwavering.
How can he be so damn happy around you all the time?
He's not; it's just an act.
Or is it?
Mind games aside, you procure the rope and begin weaving patters around his body, securing his hands firmly behind his back...
-> Pester Laint.

Y'know, in retrospect it was a good idea to check on whether these two may or may not be conspiring. It's also good to know that Lady Avila is at least uncomfortable with the idea of betraying Lady Ahla.
Lady Vitelle's paranoia amuses me on some level, too. Being envious of someone's empathy is not a good position to be in, and beyond being aware of the fact of how abrasive she is, she yet assumes by default that others would be treating her the way she'd treat THEM.
. . . I am suddenly sad that nobody was around to teach Vitelle that there was more to life than the Capricornian climb to the top during her critical developmental years. While she has entirely herself to blame for the way she turned out, she shouldn't have had ONLY herself for that. Most unfortunate.
Though, on the other side of the coin, she has Avila to thank for her current position at all. It strikes me as ungrateful to call her a coward the moment she says "no".
